The provincial Administration, the Landratsamt, fulfils a double function: Community administration and governmental administration. The main duty of the community administration is supporting local district authorities in the execution of their tasks. This means independent management of public duties and responsibilities beyond the scope of local district authorities.
The Enzkreis is formed by 28 municipalities and has 190.000 inhabitants. The Landratsamt has 950 employees.
he consulting house “Consilio” in Mühlacker is part of the Enzkreis administration. One of its parts is the dementia center, offering guidance and assistance to people with dementia, their relatives and care-takers; a branch office of the center is located in the community of Keltern.
